About the Brand.

Readers Cafe + Bar is a one-of-a-kind hospitality brand concept. Mornings unfold in a vibrant café and bookstore setting, teeming with life. But as the day waltzes into evening, guests stroll past the book-filled shelves and find themselves in a cozy cocktail lounge.

It’s a warm, inviting space, complete with the nostalgic crackle of vinyl records. Casual elegance meets literary charm at Readers – where every visit is a delightful experience.

We were given a name and designed from the ground-up a brand identity, branded collateral, storefront design, and website design.

The brand’s requirements: clean, simple, minimal, modern, sophisticated, analog, dark, moody, warm, inviting

HOSPITALITY BRANDING LOGO + BRAND MARK

There’s a lot going on at Readers, so we needed a logo that could represent all the unique aspects that go into this brand. The logo has elements of books, vinyl records, and the day-to-night transition. The font is funky and inviting, a tribute to the vibe of the place.

The logo works on a coffee cup, menu, and merch. For book and vinyl lovers, the logo is pretty rad as a standalone design.

The brand mark is a simplified version of the logo and speaks to the two sides of the business. It’s perfect for coasters, social media profile images, and favicons.

WEBSITE DESIGN

As a cafe and bar branding concept, Readers needed a website that was optimized for mobile and captured its groovy concept. Users can tap into either the café or lounge for more details on hours and reservations. We built pages for the bookshop and DJ schedule as well as wrote hospitality content that told the story of the Readers concept.

The colors are dark, warm, moody, and speak to the inviting vibe of this hospitality experience.

STOREFRONT DESIGN

They had the books, the records, the locally-roasted coffee beans and all the craft libations a cocktail lover could dream of. We were tasked with crafting the look of the café and bar to match the brand including signage, menu, apron, coaster, and coffee cup design.
