This month, our goal is to get to the heart of your business.
It’s the month of big-time, major, warm, fuzzy, happy love. Squeeze your bestie ’til she complains that she can’t breathe love. Lick your dog back love (you can skip this one). What’s something unexpected you can show a little love to this month? Think about things like your digital junk drawers, website, brand voice guidelines, Canva brand kit, or blog.
Chapter 2: The heart of your business
At the heart of every strong brand is a clear set of values—what you stand for, what you believe in, and how you show up for your customers. Your brand values should guide everything from your messaging to your offerings, ensuring you both walk the walk and talk the talk.
You reinforce your brand’s values through:
- The language you use in marketing and sales
- The way you engage with customers and clients
- The visuals and aesthetics that represent your brand
- The products, services, and partnerships you choose
Take a moment this month to revisit your brand values. Do they still reflect your business today? Are they visible in your content, your customer experience, and your decision-making? If not, it may be time for a refresh.
Sometimes, when you’re very close to your brand, it’s hard to see the bigger picture—your core values might feel instinctive to you but unclear to your audience. That’s where a fresh perspective comes in; an outside expert (hey, that’s me!) can help uncover and articulate what truly drives your brand, so your messaging, visuals, and website reflect it clearly.
A recent client said this about defining her brand’s messaging:
“Doing brand voice work gave me a tool that I can use in a variety of ways, from the website, to speeches and social posts. The brand voice work you did is like the Swiss Army knife of marketing!”
Have a specific brand strategy challenge you want to tackle in one day?
In a Growth Story Brand Strategy Power Hour, we will tackle a branding question, problem, or idea you have in a focused session. After our 1-hour session, I will send you a write-up with notes and action items for the next steps. 2 weeks after our session, you have the opportunity for another 30 minute call to talk through anything that has come up since our call.
Some questions we can work through during these sessions:
- What are the essential and foundational branding elements a business or nonprofit needs when its just starting out?
- What goes into a brand strategy?
- Can you review my mission and vision?
- Let’s chat through my target audiences.
- How can I develop my brand’s voice so it sounds authentic and unique?
- What does a website need to say in order to lead to more conversions?
