March is Women’s History Month, and March 8th is International Women’s Day. Now, you know I don’t wait for a holiday to celebrate the incredible women entrepreneurs in my life—but that doesn’t mean I won’t be celebrating. 🥂

Last month, I encouraged you to dig into the heart of your brand—your values, your non-negotiables, the foundation of your mission. And let’s be real: taking a stance can feel uncomfortable. But, lady, if you want your brand to stand out, it’s time to step into your power.
Chapter 3: Writing Women Into the Narrative
Women-led businesses have the power to:
- ✅ Own their narrative—your brand story is more than a bio; it’s an invitation for your audience to connect with your mission.
- ✅ Lean into their unique voice—whether it’s bold, soft, playful, or direct, it’s yours. Let it shape your messaging.
- ✅ Embrace femininity in branding—your brand doesn’t have to look or sound “neutral” to be taken seriously. Poppy colors can be powerful. Playfulness can be strategic. Empathy is a sign of warmth.
- ✅ Be both approachable and authoritative.
When your brand reflects your values, voice, and vision, the right people will be drawn to it. The ones who don’t like it weren’t meant for you anyway.
The reality is that women entrepreneurs are writing the narrative
Here’s the thing: women don’t really need to be written into the narrative… because we are the ones who write it. For centuries, women have been the storytellers and the record-keepers. Whether through spoken word, art, literature, caregiving, or business—we shape the world.
But too often, we brush off the significance of our impact. It’s time for us to stop downplaying our influence.
Your story—your voice, your brand, your work—matters. When you own your story, you give others permission to do the same.
The way you show up—boldly, authentically, unapologetically—ripples outward.
Your brand, your voice, and your mission inspires and empowers others to step into their own narratives. Your impact isn’t just yours. It’s a chapter in someone else’s story, too.
Here’s why that matters:
When women determine the narrative, industries shift. Communities grow. Generations are impacted.
Your brand isn’t just about you. It’s about the people who see themselves in your journey, the ones who feel empowered to take action because you did.
Build the brand that reflects your full vision. Your brand isn’t just a logo or a color palette—it’s how your story is told, shared, and remembered.
When you build a brand that reflects your values, your vision, and your voice, you’re not just growing a business. You’re shaping culture. You’re setting the tone for the conversations that follow.
Women-led organizations making the world better
We LOVE our clients because they are making the world better in many ways. Here are three incredible, women-led organizations on a mission to shake things up for the better. (Psst: Growth Story designed all 3 of these websites!)
- Less Than Half – a movement of matrons of the arts, coming together to create more space for women in the art world.
- Caring for Mama – gift boxes making self-care effortless and accessible at every stage of motherhood.
- Green Dreams Women – a nonprofit that helps women in war-affected Sri Lanka build a steady income by selling their handmade paper art.
These brands aren’t just making an impact—they’re rewriting the story. And we’re honored to have helped bring their visions to life. 💛
